It’s that time of the year when the SXSW fever goes viral in Austin and people fly into the city from all around the globe to witness the creative outburst. For those of you who are unaware of the SXSW saga, let me tell you what it is. In simple words, South by Southwest (not sure how that abbreviates to SXSW) Festivals offer the unique convergence of original music, independent films, and emerging technologies. How big a deal is SXSW? According to the statistics published by SXSW on their official website,

“In 2015, SXSW was directly and indirectly responsible for injecting $317.2 million into the Austin economy. This includes 12,431 individual reservations and 59,813 room nights booked in 69 official hotels.”

We are talking of over 2000 music acts, over 1000 interactive sessions, over 100 movie premiers and easily 75,000+ live audiences. Clearly, if you’re thinking to be a part of this madness, you need a plan. Thus, I have compiled a list of some really useful links of things to do at SXSW, posted by some of the most reliable sources in the industry! I hope you find it helpful and if you have any suggestions to give, please add in the comments section below. I will keep adding to the list through the festival!

It’s nice how they combined original music, films and technology in one event. You can really learn a lot here.

Wow! I haven’t been to a musical festival in my life! There’s one coming up but I think we’ll miss it again. Honestly though, I’m not that updated with the “in” music anymore. The only music I listen to is my Top 40 playlist on Spotify!
